Dr. Richard T. Bosshardt writes here of the benefits of drinking green tea.
“Research has found a compound in green tea, called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), which is one of the most potent antioxidants known. Antioxidants consume free radicals, which are toxic molecules produced by such things as sun exposure, exercise, stress and smoking. Free radicals are linked to nearly every bad thing that occurs in our bodies, from heart disease to cancer to illnesses of all types. Green tea contains twice the content of antioxidants found in black tea or coffee because of how it is processed. It contains a third of the caffeine in an equal amount of coffee.”
