There are many potential factors which have an affect on the average human life span, but one of the overwhelming factors has to be a healthy diet.

Japanese researchers working for a yoghurt company, have found that eating yoghurt could have oral hygien benefits.
Japanese researchers have found that eating traditional, sugarless yogurt reduces the malodorous compounds that cause bad breath. It also cuts down on plaque and gingivitis, they discovered.

DIABETES: a growing problem
Researchers in Canada have found a strong link between prostate cancer and diet.
Dr. Neil Fleshner of Toronto’s Princess Margaret Hospital says vitamin E, the trace mineral selenium and certain micronutrients found in soy and tomatoes are showing dramatic results in the laboratory of preventing prostate cancer, and slowing or even arresting its progression once diagnosed.

It wasn’t until I started this site that I realized actually how healthy a Japanese diet can be. Even though, I live in Japan I haven’t always eaten what typical Japanese people eat. I have always envied Japanese people how they seem similar foods to me, excercise less than me, but never gain weight. I plan on studying on what people eat, especially older Japanese and see if I can align my diet in the same way.
I like this quote, “Asking Japan to abandon this part of its culture would compare to Australians being asked to stop eating meat pies, Americans being asked to stop eating hamburgers and the English to go without fish and chips. ”
